Inside Out // Week 2

Last night my husband took the night off and let one of our NGU interns speak. Rylan spoke about why it's so easy for us to fancy up our outsides and neglect cleaning up the inside.

We all have a sin problem. No one is cleaner on the inside than someone else. Always be careful about pointing the finger at someone else.

It's not so much hypocrisy, though all Christians are indeed hypocrites, but it's our habitual sinning that causes others to not think so highly of Christians.
Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside will also be clean! Matthew 23:25-26
When we are hypocritical on a consistent basis, we become blind to the truth; just as the Pharisees.

When we allow God to clean the inside of us, the outside will take care of itself!

We can't just LIP it up - we have to LIVE it up. It's imperative that our lip service match up with they way that we live.
The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable. -DC TALK
